Our Bunnies

Our bunnies get attended to twice a day, both in the morning and late afternoon.

Their morning feed consists of a cup of dried mixed rabbit food, with a small treat, either a carrot, small apple, some celery and sometimes a weetbix, which they love. Checking their water bottles daily is vital, always make sure it is full and not warm. We have weight ball bearings in all of our bottles. This stops the water from being sucked back up into the bottle, the water bottle may by full but it is impossible for the rabbits to get. These bottles dont leak and they never get stuck.

That works out to $1.36 a kg very cheap and no waste food, as it all gets eaten there are no fillers in it and it is all available at any PET BARN STORE.

We Do Sell 5kg bags with each purchase of a Rabbit for $10.00 each or you can buy a 4kg bag on its own for $10.00 also .

 

Afternoon feed consists of a cup of rabbit pellets and lucerne or dandelions, they realy like these. Then i refill the watter bottles, it usually depends on the weather, whether or not they drink alot.

My bunnies are litter tray trained from an early age, these are cleaned out daily, personally i suggest you litter tray train your rabbits as it helps keep their enclosure clean and hygenic. It may be hard to litter tray train your rabbit if it has reached adulthood, the earlier you start the better.

Our cages are cleaned out once a week (if your rabbits are not litter trained, you should clean them twice a week) usually on saturday. When the cages are getting cleaned out they all get a run on he lawn.

All out kittens are handled daily as this gives them an excellent temperment and are very calm arround people. Our kittens are weaned out at five weeks and are ready for sale at six weeks of age.

We Also add to our water bottle once a week for the prevention of Diarrhoea 5mls per litre of Sulfa solution it come in a 50ml bottle for $8.95 or bigger bottles this is also available from any PET BARN STORE.

Fly Repellent

We Use a disinfectant called Maxpro it is a disinfectant cleaner and deodorizer in one just $13.49 for a 5 litre bottle it also has citronella in it to prevent flies for hanging around available from any PET BARN STORE. 

 

We also make our own fly repellent, with three drops of Citronella oil in a spray water bottle . Yes it really works keeping them away for days at a time . ps don't use citronella oil that is used for torches as this is mixed with a flammable liquid, use straight oil only cost around $2 from the reject shop.
